1. Who provides Bishara

Bishara (“the app”) is provided by Charbel Fayad, Beirut, Lebanon (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@getbishara.app.

By downloading or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

2. What the app is

Bishara delivers Arabic Bible verses, prayers, reflections and Christian quotes to your iPhone — inside the app, on Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, as daily reminders, and as images and wallpapers you can save or send. Its interface is in English; its content is in Arabic.

It is a devotional companion, not a work of religious authority, and it is not a substitute for a Bible, a priest, or pastoral care. Nothing in it is medical, psychological or legal advice. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency service.

3. Devices and requirements

The app runs on iPhone with a recent version of iOS and is distributed only through Apple’s App Store, whose own terms apply to the download alongside these. The full verse library ships inside the app, so it works offline; a connection is needed only for optional content updates and for subscriptions.

4. What is free

The Scripture is free and stays free. That includes every verse, prayer, reflection and quote in the library, both Bible translations, all nine themes and matching app icons, widgets on both the Home Screen and the Lock Screen in any number, wallpapers, and sharing. The app carries no advertising.

5. Bishara Premium

An optional subscription adds exactly two things:

• a new verse every 12, 6 or 1 hours, instead of one a day;
• up to 12 daily reminders, instead of 3.

Prices, currencies and any free trial are shown in the app and on the App Store listing before you confirm, and those screens are the authoritative statement of price.

Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled by Apple, not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple ID on confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. Manage or cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription, if Apple’s terms so provide. Refunds are granted by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them, but write to us and we will help you ask.

If a subscription lapses, nothing you chose is lost or overwritten — the app simply returns to the free experience until you come back.

6. Content and intellectual property

The Bible texts in the app are in the public domain: the Van Dyck translation of 1865 and the old Jesuit translation of 1876–1880. They belong to everyone, and we claim no rights over them.

The prayers and reflections written for the app, its curation and tagging, its design, artwork, wordmark, cross mark, themes, illustrations and software are ours and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, decompile, reverse-engineer or build a competing product from them.

6.1 What you may do with a verse

Share it freely. Images exported from the app are meant to be sent to family, posted to a status or set as a wallpaper — personally and non-commercially. Please leave the small Bishara mark on the image; it is how other people find the app.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app unlawfully, or to harass, defame or incite hatred against anyone;
• alter exported images to misrepresent Scripture or to attribute words to us that we did not write;
• interfere with the app’s operation, or try to circumvent the subscription;
• scrape, bulk-extract or republish the content library.

8. Privacy

The app has no accounts and keeps almost everything on your device. What is collected, why, and how to have it deleted is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep the app correct and available, but it is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a reminder will always be delivered by iOS at the exact moment chosen, or that a widget will always refresh when expected — those are decided by the operating system, not by us.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

10. Changes to the app and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or retired as the app develops. These terms may be updated; the current version is always on this page with its effective date at the top, and continuing to use the app after that date means the updated terms apply.

11. If part of this is unenforceable

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest stays in force.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you use the app as a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings there.
